Edward Jordan Dimock

Edward Jordan Dimock (January 4, 1890 – March 17, 1986) was a United States federal judge.

Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Dimock received an A.B. from Yale College in 1911 and an LL.B. from Harvard Law School in 1914. He was in private practice in New York City from 1914 to 1941. He was a Lecturer, Yale Law School from 1941 to 1946. He was an Editor, Official Law Reports, State of New York from 1942 to 1945. He was a Chairman, Appeal Board, Office of Contract Settlement, Washington, D.C. from 1945 to 1948. He was a member of the Appeal Board, Office of Contract Settlement, Washington, D.C. from 1948 to 1951.

Dimock was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Dimock was nominated by President Harry S. Truman on June 11, 1951, to a seat vacated by George Murray Hulbert. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on July 10, 1951, and received his commission on July 11, 1951. He assumed senior status on July 28, 1961. Dimock served in that capacity until March 17, 1986, due to his death.

He died in Forestburgh, New York.
